This is an orchestration of “The Last of Us” from Naughty Dog’s game of the same title. I love Gustavo Santoalalla’s soundtrack and wanted to experiment with a nice simple orchestration of this track. Hopefully I added a bit of my own style while retaining the feel of the original.

An original piece of music by Blake Robinson. It’s a taster of some music from ‘The Blake Robinson Synthetic Orchestra Originals Volume 3’. It started off as a 10 minute doodle to test a new string library I’m working on, but I ended up spending an hour or two turning it into to a full piece.

You can pick up the mp3 over on my Soundcloud:

This is an orchestral cover of The Trial from Chrono Trigger. I was just experimenting with strings and things, and although I wasn’t completely happy with how it turned out, I ran out of time and thought I’d share.

This is an orchestral cover of Outset Island from Wind Waker originally featured on the 2012 Synthetic Orchestra Christmas Calendar. Due to popular demand I’ve gone back and remastered/remixed these pieces (where possible) to remove the sleigh-bells and Christmassy aspects. You can find all 24 pieces from the calendar on the new album, Video Game Orchestrations : Volume 2 (http://blake.so/vgo2). I also have a Banjo-Kazooie Symphony album coming out May 31st 2013 if that’s your kinda thing! More over at http://banjosymphony.com. This is just a preview. Full album coming May 31st. Head over to the site for more info and to sign up for a release day email (http://banjosymphony.com).

"BANJO-KAZOOIE SYMPHONY sets The Synthetic Orchestra’s sights on Grant Kirkhope’s classic soundtrack. Remaining faithful to the source material, the album is over than an hour long nostalgic adventure through 30 tracks that have been affectionately re-orchestrated by hand - one note at a time."

Original composer, Grant Kirkhope said “I just couldn’t believe how excellent they were. I have to say that I’m really honoured that he’s taken the time and effort to take those old rough sounding tunes and turn them into something that I think is fantastic… I hope you’ll all agree!”

The album releases on Loudr and iTunes on May 31st, 2013. Head over to the Facebook page for more previews & info (http://facebook.com/banjosymphony) or follow the Synthetic Orchestra’s twitter account to stay up to date (@syntheticorch)
